Buying guide
Feather flag bases: match the hardware to the location
The base is part of the display specification, not simply an accessory chosen by appearance. It needs to suit the flag, pole connection, ground surface and intended position. A base that connects to a pole is not automatically suitable for its height or use. Start with the exact flag model and the place it will stand.
Which base type should I consider?
- Ground spike: for suitable soft ground where installation is permitted.
- Water base and large water base: compare the specifications and filling requirements for compatible displays.
- Cross base and bag: check the footprint and required ballast for the intended location.
- Drive-on foot: a specialist vehicle-display option that must be positioned and used as instructed.
- Water-filled bag: supplementary ballast for a compatible setup, not a complete freestanding base by itself.
Check compatibility before ordering
Provide the flag height, pole model and original order reference if possible. If the equipment came from another supplier, include photographs and relevant connection measurements. Similar-looking pole sockets can differ. Avoid choosing a lighter or smaller base merely because it appears to fit the pole.
Plan the footprint and day-to-day handling
Keep the base and display clear of doors, walkways and vehicle movement. Check whether the site permits ground spikes and whether a filled base can be handled and stored practically. Follow the filling, securing and weather guidance for the product. No base should be treated as making a portable flag suitable for every weather condition.
Buying a new kit or replacing a component?
For a complete new display, compare the base choices within the selected feather flag product. For replacement poles and other components, see flag poles and display hardware. Keep serviceable compatible components together so future reorders are easier to identify.
Ask us to check your setup before ordering if the size, connection or surface is uncertain. A photograph of the full display and its base is often more useful than a product nickname alone.
